La Fabrique (Champdepraz) - Covarey (Champdepraz)
The trail is not too challenging and not too busy, winding through deciduous and coniferous forests, at the edge of the gullies.
The trail begins at the Mont Avic Nature Park headquarters and follows a winding path that takes us near the town hall, where it is possible to admire some wood carvings.
A little further on, near the church, we find a wooden bench with two elderly people waiting for us; from this point there is an excellent view of the entire valley floor.
Beyond it, we can admire from above the pools of the Chalamy stream, well known for canyoning.
The arrival in Covarey, with the breathtaking view of Mont Avic, will conclude our hike.

Start point description
From the Verrès freeway exit, turn left in the direction of Aosta.
After a couple of kilometers, on the left, you will find the junction for Champdepraz with signs for the Mont Avic Nature Park.
Entering the built-up area, you will come to a hairpin bend; in front is the Mont Avic Nature Park headquarters, and on the right is a parking lot where you can leave your car.
Trail description
From the parking lot walk alongside the Mont Avic Natural Park headquarters and climb up the dirt road that with a few hairpin bends leads to the town hall where you can admire some wood carvings.
Cross the road and continue left until you reach the church where there is a characteristic wooden bench and a viewpoint over the central valley.
You reach the mining museum building and continue through the whole village until you reach the mule track that climbs steeply into the woods.
You pass under the penstock and reach the paved road that you follow to the left until you cross the bridge over the Chalamy stream where you can see some beautiful pools, known for canyoning.
Just after the bridge, on the right, is the mule track that enters the forest, which with wide turns reaches the paved road again.
You follow it for a few stretches alternating with the mule track until you reach the houses of Gettaz des Allemands.
At the village, you continue going up the valley halfway up the hillside until you reach the beautiful clearing where the village of Fusse stands.
You continue for a stretch along the dirt road, then follow a detour to the right that crosses the forest and descends along a beautiful mule track, where you cross the stream.
You climb back up and reach the car road, which you follow to the left until the first hairpin bend where you continue on the left detour to the large parking lot.
On the right starts the small stone-paved road that takes us to Covarey.
