Champorcher Castle

It is a tower of primitive type, with a square plan, owned first by the lords of Bard and then, from the mid-13th century (1242), by the Savoys.
In 1320, following damage sustained in 1311 in the course of skirmishes between locals and inhabitants of Valsoana, it was entirely rebuilt and enriched with swallow-tailed battlements.
It was used mainly as a watchtower in the 13th and 14th centuries.
