Garden of Heaven and Time

Exhibition organised by the Mont Avic Natural Park Authority in collaboration with the Verrès section of the CAI (Italian Alpine Club).
On display are a number of objects used for orientation, several sundials and a device for determining the position of the Sun among the stars according to the date.
It is best to view the objects in numerical order.
All the sundials on display refer to local solar time, not the conventional or civil time we are used to, which is regulated by the passage of an “average” Sun over the meridian of Mount Etna.
